Vegan options are becoming more plentiful and we’ve been asked multiple times for a list of our vegan choices. We have a large list of vegan options at Asia Garden in Jackson, TN and I’m happy to list them out for you as I know it gets old quickly cooking for yourself at home.
For your peace of mind I’d like to define what we consider vegan so that we’re all on the same page. Vegan: A person who does not eat or use animal products. This includes not consuming eggs, fish or milk products.
Chinese Menu Options:
- You can ask for any vegetable, tofu or bean curd stir fry from our Chinese Menu with clear or brown sauce but you MUST specify that it’s to be made with no chicken stock because you’re vegan.
- Assorted Vegetables, but must specify no chicken stock
- Broccoli in Garlic Sauce, but must specify no chicken stock
- Sauteed Green Beans, but must specify no chicken stock
- Bean Curd-Country Style, but must specify no chicken stock
- Vegetable Lo Mein
- White Rice
Japanese Menu Options:
- Miso Soup
- Seaweed Salad
- Cucumber Salad
- Spring Rolls
- Edamame
Sushi Roll Options:
- Avocado Roll
- Cucumber Roll
- Sweet Potato Roll (no eel sauce)
- Vegetable Roll
You can also create a sushi roll with any vegetables, fruits and sauces the Sushi Chefs have on hand including our crunchy pieces as we don’t use eggs when making them. For example, a vegan customer of ours likes to eat our Avocado Roll with asparagus and crunchy pieces added along with drops of Sriracha on top. Keep in mind when ordering, that it’s much easier for us to put your order in if you find a roll to “add to”. For example using the Avocado Roll in the previous example and adding ingredients to it.
Here are the lists of vegetables, fruits, sauces & toppings that the Sushi Chefs have to pick from that are vegan.
List of Vegetables: cucumber, avocado, chives, lettuce, ginger, asparagus, spinach, shitake mushrooms, gobo (root when cooked is soft)
List of Fruit: pineapple, orange, mango
List of Sauces & Toppings: Spicy chili sauce, furikake, Sriracha, crunchy pieces, nanami, wasabi, ponzu sauce, soy sauce, sesame seeds
I’ve combed through our entire menu to find all the vegan options we have but if you have a question then please ask. The best way to reach me is by messaging me on any of Asia Garden’s social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or SnapChat.
